If you would like a primary ballot mailed to you, you should request it as soon as possible, so that it can be mailed to you and you can return it via mail prior to the August 4th election.
- AFT Vermont requested all candidates who have a contested election to fill out a questionnaire based on the legislative priorities voted on by delegates to the AFT Vermont Convention. You can view their answers here: Responses to Questionnaire 2026 - Google Sheets
(Note: We will be asking all candidates–even those without a contested primary–to fill out the questionnaire prior to the general election in November)
- AFT Vermont is making a limited set of recommendations for those candidates who are in a contested primary. The determination was made using the following considerations:
- Did the candidate fill out our questionnaire?
- Does the candidate align with our issues?
- Are they a serious candidate?
- Would our recommendation potentially make a difference in the primary election?
- If someone is not 100% aligned with our issues, are they significantly better than the person they are running against?
