Join UVMMC unions on the picket line TODAY!

Support Staff and Technical Professionals at UVM Medical Center are bargaining together for safe staffing, job security, liveable wages, and common good principles that could help reshape the landscape of healthcare in Vermont – but UVM Health isn’t moving yet. The unions contracts are expiring and management is still presenting staffing articles and job security language that weaken current contract protections, and a 1% cost of living increase. Unions submitted their 10-day notice for an informational picket on August 14th outside of the main hospital entrance at 111 Colchester Ave. This is not a work stoppage, but it is a major step forward in their campaign for dignified quality patient care. This is a moment for unions to stand together against austerity cuts.

Last week Support Staff, Techs and community leaders delivered over 4000 petition signatures to UVMMC management in support of their bargaining for the Common Good Platform. Contracts are expiring and management is still refusing to move on key priorities. In fact, they've presented major take-backs on safe staffing, job security, and healthcare.
